The Women Research and Documentation Centre (WORDOC) of the Institute of African Studies, University of Ibadan is organizing a roundtable event on Women’s Agenda for the 2019 general elections in Nigeria. The roundtable event is part of the celebration of International Women’s Day for 2018, and will come up on Thursday the 8th of March, 2018 at the Lady Bank Anthony Hall of the Institute of African Studies, University of Ibadan by 10 am prompt.
The roundtable event with the theme: “Pragmatic Inclusion in the Press for Progress will be chaired by Professor Olufunmilayo Oloruntimehin, Professor of Sociology and Anthropology at the Obafemi Awolowo University Ile-Ife while Dr. Morounkola Thomas, Executive Assistant to the Governor of Oyo State, Abiola Ajimobi on Political Matters will deliver the keynote address. Among the other speakers at the roundtable event is Hon. Mulikat Akande Adeola, an honourable member of the 7th assembly of the Nigerian House of Representatives as well as the first female majority leader of the house; Barrister Aderonke Adedayo, former Special Assistant to the Governor of Oyo State on due process; Mrs Tayo Agunbiade, Women’s Rights Advocate at the National Assembly; Princess Adeola Sangodoyin, National President of the the Women Association for Leadership and Governance Initiative, and Mary William of the Centre for Applied Ethics and Political Communication in Africa.
