On Monday the 10th of July 2017, Professor Adebanji Akintoye, One of Nigeria’s most eminent historians who is currently based in Pennsylvania, USA, will be at the University of Ibadan for the 2017 edition of the Splash FM annual lecture.
This year’s lecture is part of events celebrating the 10th year anniversary of popular Ibadan based Radio Station, Splash FM 105.5 Ibadan as well as the 78th birthday anniversary of the founding chairman of West Midlands Communications Limited and the Maye Olubadan of Ibadanland, Chief Adebayo Akande, MFR.
Prof. Akintoye is a former Director of the Institute of African Studies of the Obafemi Awolowo University Ile-Ife. He is also a former senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria having served from 1979-1983, and he will be presenting his lecture on the topic, Ethnic Nationalities and the Prospects of Modern African Country at the Trenchard Hall, The University of Ibadan, by 12:00 noon.
The Chairman of the Occasion is Emeritus Professor Ayo Bamgbose, foremost African Linguist, who will be joining other eminent personalities to celebrate Chief Adebayo Akande and Splash FM, which in its ten years of Broadcast has become one of the most listened to radio stations in Southwest Nigeria.
