Owambe Weekend : Palazzo Pants From PalazzosByOM

Palazzo pants  also called Palazzo trousers in Britain, and Pantadas in India, are long women’s trousers cut with a loose, extremely wide leg that flares out from the waist.

Palazzo trousers are popular as a summer season style, as they are loose and tend to be flattering in light, flowing fabrics that are breathable in hot weather. This in particular makes Palazzo pants very fitting for tropical regions like Nigeria.  Silk crepe/crape, and other natural fibre textiles are popular fabrics for this design. Palazzo trousers are less frequently seen during the winter months, but they may be found in wool or heavy synthetic fabrics as well. Palazzo trousers  for women first became a popular trend in the late 1960s and early 1970sThe style was reminiscent of the wide-legged cuffed trousers worn by some women fond of avant-garde fashions in the 1930s and 1940s.

Palazzo pants went out of fashion in the start of the 21st century but is currently becoming a new fashion trend. Nigerian fashionpreneurs are not left out of the burgeoning Palazzo pants style either, and there are already a number of young fashionistas who have made Palazzo pants their stock in trade. One of them is Busari Omotolani, CEO of  PalazzosbyOM. She is our  guest on Owambe Weekend today. and she shares some of her products on the blog.
